Trump goes crazy in crazy midnight posting spree about Greenland
President Donald Trump made a long series of posts on his Truth Social website early Tuesday that included insults directed at U.S. allies and screenshots of what appeared to be private messages from world leaders.
While his posts addressed everything from Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Minnesota to Lisa Cook, the Federal Reserve governor he is trying to fire, most were about Greenland, the semi-autonomous region of Denmark that threatens to take over the United States.
Trump’s messages, posted between 12:26 and 1:53 a.m. ET, included a pair of memes showing Greenland under his control:

In another post, Trump accused the United Kingdom of “GREAT STUPIDITY” and “total weakness” for its plan to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, citing it as proof that the United States needs control over Greenland.
However, just last year, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump supported the plan. Rubio said Trump considered the delivery a “monumental achievement.”

In yet another post, he shared what appeared to be a text message from French President Emmanuel Macron, who seemed baffled by Trump’s attempts to seize Greenland in an otherwise friendly message while trying to plan a meeting at this week’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland:

Trump said he also had “a very good phone call” with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about Greenland.
“As I expressed to everyone, very clearly, Greenland is imperative to national and global security,” he wrote. “There can be no turning back. Everyone agrees on that!”

Then, as he did with Macron, he posted what appeared to be a text message from Rutte praising him for Syria, Gaza and Ukraine. Rutte added that he was “committed to finding a way forward in Greenland.”
