China performs military exercises around Taiwan
Taipei, Taiwan -The Chinese army announced the large -scale exercises in the waters and airspace around Taiwan on Tuesday that include a battle group of aircraft carrier, since it again warned the self -denominated island democracy against the search for formal independence. The joint exercises involve the forces of the Navy, Air Ground and Rocket and are destined to be a “severe warning and overwhelming containment against Taiwan’s independence,” according to Shi Yi, a spokesman for the Eastern Theater Command of the popular liberation army. No operational name was announced for the exercises or previously notified.
Porcelain Consider that Taiwan is part of its territory, which is put under its control By force if necessarywhile most Taiwanese favor their de facto independence and their democratic status. Any conflict could bring in the United States, which maintains a series of alliances in the region and is obliged to the United States law to treat Taiwan threats as a “serious concern.”
- Does Trump’s abrupt turn in Ukraine give Taiwan the nerves?
Taiwan’s presidential office said in a message on the social media platform X that “the flagrant military provocations of China not only threaten peace in the Strait of #Taiwan, but also undermine security throughout the region, as evidenced by the exercises near Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Philippines and SCs. We strongly condemn the escalated behavior of China.”
The SCS refers to the South China Sea, the strategic river route that China claims almost entirely.
The China Navy was also celebrated recently Drills near Australia and New Zealand for which he gave no warning, forcing the writing of last minute commercial flights.
USA
China’s late Increased United States Military Association with the Asian nation directed directly to counteract Chinese “aggression” in the region.
Hegseth, in Tokyo on Sunday, described Japan as an “indispensable partner” by deterring Chinese assertiveness and announced an update of the United States military command in Japan to a new “headquarters to fight war.” He emphasized the need for the United States and Japan to do more to strengthen their military capacity while the region faces the growing assertiveness of China in its innumerable territorial disputes in the region.
“Japan is our indispensable partner to deter Chinese military aggression,” Hegseth said at the beginning of his conversations with Japan Defense Minister, Nakatani Gen in Tokyo. “The United States is moving fast, as you know, to restore deterrence in this region and worldwide.”
Hegesh’s visit occurred amid the concern in Japan about how the United States’s commitment could change under the “first first” policy of President Trump, said Japanese defense officials, speaking under condition of anonymity, citing the protocol. Mr. Trump has threatened to impose commercial tariffs In Japan, a key ally of the United States, causing more concern.
The two parts agreed to accelerate the plans to develop together and produce missiles such as the advanced air of medium range to air missiles, or Mraam, and consider producing SM-6 missiles of air surface, to help relieve a shortage of ammunition, Nakatani said. The ministers also agreed to accelerate the process that involves the maintenance of US warships and war planes in Japan to strengthen and complement the Japanese and American defense industries.

There are more than 50,000 American troops based in Japan.
Tokyo launched last week the Japan Japan Operations Command, or JJOC, whose mission is to coordinate the forces of self -defense, maritime and aerial of the Japanese, in a significant action to further strengthen the capacities to respond to contingencies and better cooperate with the United States.
Hegseth announced on Sunday the improvement of his current command, the US forces Japan, placing a unified operational commander to function as a joint force headquarters to establish links with his Japanese counterpart to serve as “war struggle headquarters” to reinforce the speed and capacity of the joint operations of his troops.
The head of the Pentagon called for the reorganization of American troops a step to prepare better for a possible conflict. America and Japan work for peace, he said, but “we must be prepared.”
China’s last force show around Taiwan
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense said Tuesday that it had tracked 71 Chinese airplanes and 21 warships in the air and waters that surround the island during the Chinese exercise. He added that he had been tracking the Shandong aircraft carrier movement since Saturday and that his group of transporters had entered the Taiwan Air Defense Identification Zone, a self -defined area tracked by the military.

China regularly sends military assets to the area, which China does not recognize, but Taiwanese officials have recently noticed that China could launch a furtive attack under the appearance of military exercises.
“I mean that these actions widely reflect the destruction (from China) of regional peace and stability,” said Taiwan Defense Minister Wellington Koo.
Taiwan has established a central response group to monitor the last exercises, Koo said.

The exercises occur only two weeks after a large -scale exercise in mid -March, when Beijing sent a large number of drones and ships to the island.
China’s Taiwan Affairs Office said the exercises were aimed at Lai ching-tePresident of Taiwan strongly pro-independence.
“Lai Ching-you stubbornly insists on a posture of ‘Independence of Taiwan’, blatantly labeling the continent as a ‘foreign hostile force’, and has presented a so-called 17-point strategy … moving anti-china feelings,” said the Office of Taiwan affairs of China in a statement in a statement. “
In mid -March, Lai de Taiwan presented a 17 -point strategy aimed at underpinning Taiwan’s national security. The points include allowing espionage cases to be tried by military courts and make immigration rules stricter for Chinese citizens requesting a permanent residence.
Lai’s words and actions seem especially to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, whose previous attempts of intimidation have had little effect on the Taiwanese public. Those often have been scheduled in response to the expressions of Taiwanese independence, including a visit to the then leader of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.
A new impulse of China propaganda
The PLA of China also launched a series of videos to advertise its military exercise, including one in which they represent Lai as a green parasite that “poisoning” the island hatching smaller parasites. The video shows Lai’s head in the body of a bulbous green worm, with a couple of chopsticks that pick it up and roast it on a flame about Taiwan.
Beijing sends combat airplanes and vessels from the Navy to the island daily, seeking to wear Taiwanese defenses and morals, although the vast majority of the 23 million people on the island reject their claim for sovereignty over Taiwan. In recent years, it has intensified the scope and scale of these exercisesfrom sending small numbers of individual combatants and surveillance aircraft to send groups of aircraft, drones and ships.
“The PLA organized the naval and aerial forces to practice subjects such as the sea and land strikes, focusing on testing the ability of troops to carry out precision attacks on some key objectives of Taiwan authorities from multiple directions,” said Zhang Chi, a professor at China’s University of National Defense in an interview with Chinese state television.
Taiwan and China separated in the middle of the civil war 76 years ago, but tensions have increased since 2016, when China cut almost all contacts with Taipei.
