Melania Trump gave her husband, Donald Trump, an unexpected nickname during the premiere of her film “Melania” at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday.

The first lady drew loud applause and cheers when she referred to the president as “America’s boss, Donald Trump” and thanked the family, friends and colleagues who she said had helped bring the project, on which Amazon controversially spent some $75 million, to life.

However, many critics online were quick to suggest that “America’s Dictator” might be a more appropriate title.

During her remarks, Melania Trump thanked her husband “for giving our family a lifetime of experiences one could only imagine” and called the premiere a “historic” moment.

He also rejected the idea that “Melania” is a conventional documentary, describing it as “a very deliberate act of authorship that invites you to witness events and emotions through a window of rich images.”

“Our story will live on for generations, forever,” he promised.
