Bill Gates addressed allegations made about him in the latest batch of files the Justice Department released about Jeffrey Epstein, saying he is “one of many people who regret ever knowing” the late sexual predator.

Materials uploaded to the Justice Department’s website last week include drafts of emails written by Epstein in 2013 to himself, including one in which he claimed to have helped Bill Gates obtain medication to treat a sexually transmitted infection he contracted from having “sex with Russian girls.” The disgraced financier also alleged that he facilitated the Microsoft co-founder’s “illicit trysts with married women.”

In a separate email, Epstein claimed that Gates tried to secretly give his then-wife, Melinda French Gates, antibiotics for an STD.

“To add insult to injury, you then tearfully implore me to delete the emails related to your sexually transmitted disease, your request that I provide you with antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda, and the description of your penis,” the email reads.

In an interview with Australian newspaper Nine News published Wednesday, Gates denied the allegations.

“Apparently Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent. The email is fake, so I don’t know what he was thinking there,” Gates said.

It is unclear which of the emails Gates was referring to.

“I regret every minute I spent with him and I apologize for doing so,” Gates added.

Gates’ association with Epstein has been well documented. Gates said the two men met in 2011, years after Epstein served prison time after pleading guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution.

“The approach was always that he knew a lot of very rich people and said he could get them to donate money to global health. You know, in retrospect, that was a dead end, and I was a fool to spend time with him,” Gates said. “I was one of the many people who regret having met him.”

Gates has not been charged with any crime in connection with Epstein.

The tech founder’s interview comes after French Gates said her ex-husband still has questions to answer about her ties to Epstein.

“It’s beyond heartbreaking, right? I remember being those girls’ age. I remember my daughters being that age,” French Gates told NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast. “So for me, it’s personally difficult whenever those details come up, right, because [it] “It brings back memories of very, very painful times in my marriage.”

“Any questions that are left out there about what I don’t know, I can’t even begin to know everything, those questions are for those people and even for my ex-husband,” she continued.
