Ray J may be moving forward with his music career despite recent health issues, but footage from one of his recent concerts is causing concern among fans.

The R&B singer and former reality TV star appeared to have blood dripping from his eyes beneath a pair of sunglasses while performing a Valentine’s Day show in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Saturday.

A compilation of video clips from X also shows Ray J removing his shirt at one point during the show to reveal a heart monitor strapped to his chest.

The 45-year-old also apparently addresses concerns about his health, telling a backstage colleague that he is “getting better” before looking directly into the camera and adding: “I’m fine.”

Before the show began, Ray J seemed to be in good spirits, telling fans in a short Facebook video that he would be “singing his heart out, literally” as he took the stage.

“Think of it like the Super Bowl when Prince got there and performed ‘Purple Rain’ and it was raining,” he explained. “That’s what it will be tonight.”

News reached out to a representative for Ray J for comment on the videos but did not immediately hear back.

Ray J, younger brother of fellow R&B artist Brandy, rose to fame in 1996 with his hit single, “Let It Go,” from the film “Set It Off.” In the years that followed, the singer’s private life became the subject of media scrutiny amid high-profile relationships with Whitney Houston and Kim Kardashian. In 2009, he starred in the VH1 reality series “For the Love of Ray J,” before competing on “Celebrity Big Brother” about eight years later.

Last month, Ray J shared on social media that he had “almost died” from a severe case of pneumonia that required his hospitalization.

“My heart only beats like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and on the right path, everything will be fine,” he explained in an Instagram video. “So thank you for all your prayers.”

In a separate livestream later shared on

“2027 is definitely an end for me,” he said. “That’s what the doctor said.”

Ray J’s announcement reportedly prompted his ex-wife, Princess Love, to modify a previous protective order that prevented her from seeing their two children, Melody, 7, and Epik, 6.
