Right-wing drama erupts after Piers Morgan’s guest calls America the
Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro lashed out at fellow political pundit Piers Morgan for featuring on his show what he described as “America haters,” calling the right-wing Brit the “Jerry Springer of political television” during Wednesday’s episode of his own YouTube series.
The Daily Wire co-founder was left furious by Morgan’s Tuesday edition of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” in which comedian-turned-commentator Dave Smith criticized the joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran and called the United States “possibly the worst terrorist organization in the world,” given the number of civilians killed in U.S. military operations over the past 25 years.
Accusing Morgan of “mocking the entire industry by putting on screen whatever scum is still willing to show up,” Shapiro compared the Brit to infamous tabloid talk show host Springer, and then criticized Smith for being unfunny and ill-informed about foreign policy.

Shapiro, a strong supporter of Israel and its alliance with the United States, became enraged when he told viewers: “I’m sorry, but you hate the country if you say the United States is the worst terrorist organization in the world. You just say it.”
“To make that argument, you have to deliberately obscure the difference between real terrorists (who actually deliberately seek to kill innocent people in the name of politics, not collateral damage, and who deliberately seek to kill innocent people) and nation-states that seek to avoid civilian casualties, often while fighting those real terrorists,” he continued.
Shapiro later speculated that Smith was probably excited to even be mentioned by him, calling the idea of debating “trolls” a waste of time.

Hours after Shapiro’s criticisms were published, Morgan responded in a Thursday morning post on X.
“If people are curious why @benshapiro suddenly turned on me, this may explain it…” he said while retweeting a video from his show in January. “This guy just can’t stand anyone criticizing the government of Israel.”
Before their apparent disagreement, Shapiro had made several appearances on Morgan’s show, including at a 2025 debate on Israel and Palestine.
