Democrats Find Dreamy Way to Troll Trump on National Nap Day
Donald Trump’s apparent habit of falling asleep in public became the butt of jokes on Monday, when Democrats took advantage of the unofficial National Nap Day to share images of the president apparently asleep.
“Big day for Commander in Dream,” the official Democratic Party account on X mockingly captioned an image of Trump appearing to doze during a cabinet meeting.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ The Headquarters account also weighed in, posting a photo of Trump reclining in his seat, hand under his chin and eyes firmly closed, along with the caption: “Today is National Nap Day.”

Trump, who frequently mocked his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, as “Sleepy Joe” and has lashed out at coverage of his supposedly diminished energy levels, has been photographed on multiple occasions since returning to office and appears to have difficulty keeping his eyes open during meetings.
In January, CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who was once cardiologist to the late Vice President Dick Cheney, suggested that Trump should undergo a new medical evaluation due to his apparent drowsiness.
“The president appears to be struggling with excessive daytime sleepiness,” Reiner said. “Repeatedly falling asleep with a dozen people around your desk is not normal. This needs to be evaluated.”
