Three weeks after the United States beat Canada in the olympic ice hockey finalthe Americans once again surpassed their neighbors to win Paralympic gold and complete the hat trick in Milan Cortina.
Jack Wallace scored a hat trick to help the United States beat Canada 6-2 in Sunday’s Para ice hockey final and become the first nation to sweep the Olympic and Paralympic hockey tournaments.
There is currently no women’s ice hockey division at the Paralympic Games, as it is classified as an open gender sport.
It was notably the fifth consecutive Paralympic title for the United States and captain Josh Pauls.

Although the US men’s team won gold at the Olympic Games for the first time since the “Miracle on ice” In 1980, the story is very different at the Paralympic Games.
The United States has won six of the last seven editions of the Paralympic Winter Games. It was the third consecutive finals loss for Canada, which won its only gold in Para ice hockey on Italian ice in Turin in 2006.
Earlier, China claimed a second consecutive bronze medal by coming back from two goals down in the first three minutes to beat the Czech Republic 3-2.
Sunday’s final set a new attendance record for the sport at a major tournament, as 10,755 fans filled the nearly full stands.
The mark was set in the opening match of the tournament, when the preliminary round match between the United States and host nation Italy attracted 8,992 spectators.
