Former Republican strategist predicts misery, humiliation and shame for Donald Trump

Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson crafted a harsh rebuke of President Donald Trump on his Substack on Wednesday, warning the president that “misery, humiliation and shame await.”

Wilson, who began his career on former President George HW Bush’s campaign in 1988 and later co-founded the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, predicted that the war against Iran would be the breaking point for Trump and his movement.

“Nothing will save you now, Donald,” Wilson wrote. “Not the war. Not the lies. Not the loyalists of today, not the traitors of tomorrow. Not the terrified little men orbiting their waning political sun. Not the algorithms, not the oligarchs, not the endless stream of trash propaganda from News and Twitter pumped into the veins of a movement that is finally, visibly and unequivocally falling apart. You chose this.”

Wilson even mentioned the i-word, which appeared numerous times during Trump’s first term.

“You’re afraid of impeachment. Of course you are,” Wilson wrote. “It is the word that haunts you, the specter from which you cannot escape. But the impeachment trial is the least of your problems. What you should fear, what should keep you walking through the halls of the Residence at three in the morning, is the supervision. A relentless, exhausting and methodical exhibition.”

Relying on the growing possibility that Democrats will retake Congress, the political expert continued.

“A Democratic House and Senate will not simply vote on articles of impeachment,” Wilson wrote. “They will open the books. They will expose secrets. They will subpoena documents, bank records and communications. They will embarrass their allies, their employees, their enablers and, yes, their low-level cryptocriminal bastards in their family.”

Wilson claimed that the escalation of fighting in the Middle East will completely expose the president.

“You chose a foolish, derailed war, launched in madness and haste, sold with the usual cocktail of bravado and nonsense, and already brewing into the kind of slow, devastating catastrophe that has buried presidencies before yours,” he wrote. “You wrapped yourself in the flag, shouted about strength and promised an easy victory. What you delivered instead was chaos.”

He also dismissed any attempts Trump might make to manipulate perception.

“There’s a lot you can do in modern America,” the Webby winner explained. “You can tell MAGA cultists that we’ve always been at war with the planet Saturn, and they’ll make a billion memes about it just to own the libraries, but you can’t change the price on the gas station sign. That number is your approval rating now.”

Trump will not be able to ignore a highly questionable war against Iran, according to Rick Wilson.

Wilson has a dramatic way of making his point.

In a December essay, he took aim at every edit in Epstein’s files.

“The administration wanted to cover the pot, a liberal middle finger to America. Instead, they turned up the heat and walked away,” Wilson wrote. “That’s why black marker isn’t just ink. It’s power. It’s a new form of abuse, hitting the lives and hearts of women who have suffered for too, too long.”
