Jodie Sweetin insists that he has no bad will towards his former co -star of “Full House” Candace Cameron Bure despite the marked difference in his political views.

Many fans assumed that Sweetin was doing an excavation in Burete last year when he publicly defended a controversial segment of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games of 2024 that many, including Bure, had interpreted as a drag parody of the “The Last Super” of Leonardo da Vinci.

However, in the episode of Monday of “The Vault With Monica & Amir”, Sweetin clarified that his defense of the segment, later confirmed that he will represent Dionysus, the Greek God of decline and celebration, instead of “the last dinner”, was not directed to Bure specifically.

“To be honest, I wasn’t even talking about her,” he said. “I saw the thing of the Olympic Games and how people were going crazy about that, so I said: ‘My God, tell me that you don’t know anything about the history of art without telling me that you don’t know anything,’ and everyone said: ‘She came for Candace!'”

“I’m not changing anything I said,” he added. “But it was not an intentional excavation. But it was still what I meant.”

Sweetin, who has become a firm defender of the LGBTQ+ community in recent years, continued explaining how she and Bure maintain a cordial relationship; She said “have always been very different” regarding their positions on the rights of marriage between same sex and other issues.

“We have lived very different lifestyles. We simply exist in very different worlds,” he said. “But she is still someone I have met since she was 5 years old. So it’s like family members … Maybe we don’t talk all the time and I know if politics appears, she won’t go well, but I don’t hate you and I’m not going to hug you. But I’m not going to keep my mouth closed either.”

Bure and Sweetin portrayed DJ and Stephanie Tanner, respectively, in “Full House” of ABC from 1987 to 1995. The two actors repeated their roles in the Netflix “Fuller House” Renaissance series from 2016 to 2020.

An open conservative, Bure has drawn the wrath of the LGBTQ+ community on several occasions. In 2022, it was beaten with a rear reaction after separating from the Hallmark channel, its professional home of more than a decade, to join forces with Great American Family, a more conservative Christian network.

When the Wall Street Journal asked if the spectators could expect to see LGBTQ+ stories in Great American Family films, Bure said the network would emphasize only the “traditional marriage.”

Approximately a year later, Bure was involved in another controversy when actor Miss Benny, who is transgender, said Bure had tried to say goodbye to “Fuller House” because he opposed having a strange character in the series.

Later, Burete issued a statement to the people who denied the accusation, pointing out: “I thought Miss Benny did a great job like ‘Casey’ in the program. We did not share any scene together, so we did not have the opportunity to talk a lot while we filmed in the set. I wish Miss Benny only the best.”
