Elon Musk can leave the government, but the Democrats have not finished with him

In cards to the White House and several federal agencies on Thursday, the Democrats demanded that Musk complete a public financial dissemination that details its various commercial interests.

“In an unprecedented agreement, President Donald Trump has granted an expansive and illegal authority to Musk, a multimillionaire not chosen,” said the Democrats in a letter to the White House Council, David Warrington. “Mr. Musk is redirecting billions of taxpayers to finance their own financial interests while cutting employees, programs and federal services on which all Americans depend.”

Democrats have inspired Musk’s conflicts of interest throughout the year. Thursday’s letters are an indication that the Democrats will continue to highlight Musk’s prominent role in the Trump administration, even when their time in the government approaches. As a special government employee, Musk’s mandate is legally limited to 130 days, and both he and the president have indicated that his government’s work is leaving before that deadline.

Last week, Musk told investors in Tesla, his electric car company, which will soon spend much less time with the so -called government efficiency department that Trump created for him. And on Wednesday, Trump thanked Musk for his work as he suggested that he will not be there much longer.

“You are invited to stay all the time you want, but at some point you want to return home with your cars,” Trump said during a televised meeting at the White House with musk and members of his cabinet.

Musk’s popularity has collapsed even faster than Trump’s, since Doge agents infiltrated federal agencies, accessed confidential data and initiated dismissals, which caused a wave of demands and interventions by federal courts.

Musk Spacex and Tesla companies have received billions in government contracts over the years. Earlier this year, Musk criticized the use of the Spacex competitor of the Federal Aviation Administration, Verizon for air traffic control technology, while the agency began separately to use Starlink, a SPACEX subsidiary, for parts of the air traffic control system.

The Federal Law prohibits government workers from using public positions to obtain private profits and discourages even the appearance of conflicts of interest, a standard that the Trump administration has constantly influenced, both with the private companies of Musk and with those belonging to the president.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comments. The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Musk “complied with all applicable laws” and the president has said that Musk will challenge government political decisions that could affect their businesses.

“The Trump administration has failed to make public the financial dissemination presentations of Mr. Musk, hiding the true scope of their public conflicts,” democrats said in their letter, who requested their financial revelations, as well as any determination of the White House that they did not represent a conflict of interest.

In a separate letter to federal agencies, Connolly highlighted the various Musk contracts and asked “if you have completely revealed all connections, interactions, payments and businesses with foreign governments and officials.”

Due to a diagnosis of cancer, Connolly announced that he is going back to his position, so he defeated the representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) in an internal election of the party last December. Democrats will have to decide who should replace Connolly in the high profile paper.

Occasio-Cortez refused to tell News themezone on Thursday if he will continue.
