According to the reports, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz is leaving the Trump administration after a pump report in the Atlantic that revealed that a journalist added to a group chat that discussed highly sensitive national security issues.

His imminent departure, together with that of his deputy Alex Wong, occurs after inadvertently inviting the editor in Chief of Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, to join a group thread with senior administration officials, including the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegesh Houthi in Yemen. The news was first reported by News and Political on Thursday.

In later days, more stories about security concerns have emerged in their department. The week after Atlantic Story fell, Politico reported that the Waltz team regularly established signal chats to coordinate work in Ukraine, China, Gaza, Medio East Policy, Africa and Europe. Politico obtained the news of four people who have been personally added to the Waltz signal chats.

The Washington Post also discovered that Waltz used his personal Gmail account for government communications and that one of his high -level assistants used it to discuss sensitive military positions and powerful weapons systems related to a continuous conflict.

And before, Wired discovered an avemo account apparently belonging to Waltz that was open to the public until the magazine asked his office about it, what could give the adversaries a way of attacking people connected to him.

Trump and the White House initially stood after the history of the Atlantic broke.

“Michael Waltz has learned a lesson, and is a good man,” the president told NBC News.

And the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement: “President Trump continues to have maximum confidence in his national security team, including national security advisor Mike Waltz.”

Waltz even suggested that Goldberg could have pirate in the signal chat.

“I am not a conspiracy theorist, but of all people, in some way, this guy who has lied about the president … He is the one who somehow contacts and is then absorbed by this group,” he said in News.

“I didn’t send him a text message. I wasn’t on my phone, and let’s discover how this happened,” he continued.

Waltz, a retired officer of the Special Forces of the Army and Veteran War, has been a nearby ally of Trump and supported his efforts to cancel the presidential elections of 2020. The former congressman of the Republican Party of Florida won the re -election in November, but resigned from Congress after being chosen to serve as Trump National Security Advisor. During his time in the camera, he served in several committees related to national security.

Waltz also worked for the Pentagon and advised the then vice president Dick Cheney about the counterterrorism in the George W. Bush administration.
