London – A 21 -year -old man was arrested early Tuesday in relation to a series of alleged attacks of provisional fires after fires broke out in properties linked to a “high profile figure,” said the London Metropolitan Police. The News themezone BBC News Network said the high profile figure is the United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The man arrested on Tuesday is detained under suspicion of fire caused by the intention of endangering life, according to the police.
The early hours of Monday, firefighters were called to a fire in the private residence of Starmer in northern London. Starmer currently does not live there, since he lives in the official residence of the United Kingdom Prime Minister in 10 Downing Street, in the city center.

Firefighters also responded to a small fire at dawn on Sunday at the main door of a nearby apartment building linked to the Starmer. A person was escorted to security and treated by smoke inhalation, but no one was injured in the fire, said the London Fire Brigade.
A third fire in a car was reported during the night last week on the same street as the private residence of Starmer, which is also being investigated and believed that he is possibly linked to the man arrested on Tuesday, police said.
“As a precaution and because the property has previous connections with a high -profile public figure, the officers of the MET terrorism command are leading the investigation into this fire,” said the police. “The three fires are being treated as suspicious at this time, and the consultations remain in progress.”

On Monday, Starmer thanked emergency services for his work, but refused to provide more information about who, if someone was inside his private residence when the fire began.
