Halle Berry says that the new rules of Cannes disqualified her
Cannes, France, May 13 (Reuters)-the Oscar Halle Berry winning actress was caught by the updated clothing code of the Cannes Film Festival and had to change her choice of outfit at the last minute, journalists told journalists on Tuesday.
According to the rules, a new tab is opened, nakedness is not allowed on the red carpet, and the “bulky attire, in particular those that have a large train”, which block the way for other guests and complicated theater seats are no longer allowed.
The organizers said they could deny the access of the red carpet to those who do not respect the rules.
“I had an incredible Gupta dress to wear tonight, and I can’t wear it because the train is too big,” said Berry, who is a member of the festival jury this year, at a press conference.
“I had to make a pivot. But the part of nudity I think it is probably a good rule,” added the American star who won an Oscar for the 2001 film “Monster’s Ball.”

In recent years, guests and celebrities on the red carpet have been exceeding the limits of the festival’s clothing code with giant trains, transparent dresses and nipples.
Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, caused a stir, opened a new tab on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards in February when Censori dropped a large coat to reveal a transparent dress with nothing below.

In addition, the code now explicitly allows elegant shoes without heel on the red carpet, a movement welcome by the president of the jury Juliette Binoche. “On the heel side, I think it’s a very good idea, from experience,” said French film star on Tuesday.
