Epic Games debuts the interactive voice Darth Vader in Fortnite and is already being deceived to swear

Epic Games launched a Darth Vader character with AI with whom players can talk through the microphone.

Fortnite and Disney joined together to present an AI character who responds to the voice of a player in real time. According to Fortnite, AI Vader can react to players answering questions and providing strategies.

Technology uses Google’s Flash Gemini 2.0 model to generate Vader’s responses, according to Epic Games.

The voice of James Earl Jones, the late actor expressed by Vader, was generated using the Flash V2.5 model of Elevenlabs.

Jones’ family said in a statement to Epic: “James Earl felt that Darth Vader’s voice was inseparable from the story of Star Wars, and always wanted fans of all ages to continue experiencing. We hope this collaboration with Fortnite allows long -date Darth Vader fans and new generations to share the enjoyment of this iconic character.”

The game site establishes that the audio and transcripts of the players are not stored and used only to boost Darth Vader responses. Epic also says that he does not use players’ interactions to train AI models.
