During its descent, the capsule displayed an innovative inflatable heat shield, a technology designed by atmos to protect the capsule during the intense heat and friction of re -entry.

As Phoenix 1 re -entered the atmosphere of the Earth, he transmitted critical data and payload data to land stations in South America.
