Nicole Kidman shares her morning routine and why she starts at 3 am
Nicole Kidman has at least an unexpected habit that suggests that celebrities really are not like us.
The actor, who has adorned our screens for decades, was recently honored at the Cannes Film Festival with The tenth Kering Women in Motion award. But in advance, he sat with variety to share his creative process.
Kidman revealed that he is raising his art, simply writing “things down.” It is a routine task, perhaps, but what distinguishes it is the time when she practices her.

Instead of looking for a quiet notebook, Kidman is writing during what the majority would consider the night.
“I wake up and write something, be it a dream, be it something that circulates in my head, in my life, in my heart at that time,” he explained.
For her, the 3 am is a creative ideal point, a moment that describes as a “very mature moment for things to happen because you are in that slightly eliminated state from reality.”

His long affinity in “philosophy and poetry” also feeds his night reflections. When asked if he imagines herself as a screenwriter or director, she replied with a fast “no.” But she did not rule it completely and offered a ray of hope.
“But I always say ‘no’, and then I turn and change of mind,” he said.
