The majority of the private sleep cities in the US revealed in the report: Where is yours classified?
Where you live could affect the way you sleep at night.
A new investigation by Innerbody revealed that some areas of the country are more deprived of sleep than others.
The study used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other reference points of the 100 most populated cities in the USA., Each classifying the duration and quality of sleep.

For each city, the researchers analyzed the prevalence of five metric (physical activity, obesity, alcohol consumption, mental anguish and noise and light pollution, all of which can affect sleep quality.

Below are the 10 most private sleep cities, according to the results of the study.
- Norfolk, Virginia
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- Detroit, Michigan
- Toledo, Ohio
- Cincinnati, Ohio
- Indianapolis, Indiana
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Laredo, Texas
- Cleveland, Ohio
- Memphis, Tennessee
The researchers pointed out that many of these cities are in the eastern half of the United States, and Ohio appears several times.

While these cities were classified as the most deprived of general sleep, Honolulu, Hawaii, placed number 1 during the worst duration of sleep, with 42.3% of adults who receive less than seven hours of Shheeye per night.
That is followed by Norfolk, Virginia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Detroit, Michigan; and Huntsville, Alabama.

Memphis, Tennessee, classified number 1 for the city with the worst quality of sleep, followed by New Orleans, Louisiana; Norfolk, Virginia; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Corpus Christi, Texas.

The researchers commented that colder temperatures in some of these places could increase sleep quality.

Sleep expert Wendy Troxel, PHD, a specialist in Senior Behavior at Rand Corporation and a licensed clinical psychologist at Utah, confirmed in an interview with News Digital that, according to her own research, the location can have an impact on sleep.

Troxel’s latest research, published in Sleep Health magazine, showed that improving sleep health requires “going beyond the individual -centered approaches and considering broader strategies” in relation to neighborhoods, he said.

“Taking into account the strong connection between sleep health problems and preventable chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and stroke, our findings suggest that interventions aimed at improving neighborhood conditions could generate significant benefits,” he added.
