Senator Jim Banks (R-ind.) Said that “he will not apologize” to tell a former federal worker who was fired that “he probably deserved it” because he is a “clown.”

On Tuesday, a video went viral from Mack Schroeder, who worked for the Department of Health and Human Services, confronting banks in a Senate’s hall, asking if it will prevent the so -called Government’s Efficiency Department from illegally reduce more government jobs that help Americans to obtain social services.

In the video, Banks tells Schroeder: “You probably deserved it.” Schroeder responds disbelief: “Did he deserve it? Wow. Yes, it’s great to hear that. Why did I deserve it?”

“Because you look like a clown,” Banks replies as the elevator doors are closed.

After the video caused criticism, Banks doubled on Wednesday, saying in a video posted on social networks that Democrats and “leftist media have lost their heads.”

“A clown is a clown that chases the senators through the halls with a cell phone complaining about losing a left work waking up in the federal government that should never have been a job to start,” Banks said. “I will not go back. I will not apologize for it. Support to the president [Donald] Trump and the 100% dogs effort to reduce unnecessary expenditure and arouse federal government jobs, and we are only starting. “

Schroeder, who worked as a budget analyst for HHS, said in an interview with News59/News4 that he was surprised by Banks’ response.

“It really surprised me and surprised me because I know there will be many people in the state of Indiana who are losing services as of today with these huge cuts to HHS,” said Schroeder. “I hope you care more about your components so that many of these programs change.”

Directed by billionaire Elon Musk, the government’s efficiency department, or Doge, has been causing chaos in the federal government by dismissing workers, then sometimes returning to raise them after judicial orders or after the administration realized how critics were their roles.

In Schroeder’s video, he said he was fired on February 14, which was when the officials of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were informed that approximately 1,300 test employees were losing their jobs, according to The News.

Other HHS employees received notice on Tuesday that their works were being eliminated, according to the AP. Employment cuts are expected to save the department $ 1.8 billion annually, which is approximately 0.1% of the budget of $ 1.7 billion from the department. The cuts are of great reach, with impacts on medical research, programs aimed at preventing smoking and armed violence, and the office delivers the requests of the Freedom of Information Law.
