Witkoff calls Hamas “unacceptable” answer
The Greta Thunberg climatic activist and another 11 activists sailed for the Gaza Strip on Sunday afternoon, aboard a ship that carries help. The mission aims to “break the siege of Israel” from the devastated territory, the organizers said.
The “Game of Thrones” actor Liam Cunningham and Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament that is of Palestinian descent, are also among the crew. Hassan has been forbidden to enter Israel due to its active opposition to The Israeli assault to Gaza.
The ship of Vela Madleen, operated by the activist group Freedom Flotilla Coalition, left the Sicilian port of Catania, in southern Italy.
“‘MADLEEN’ sails Gaza today with twelve humanitarian and as much help to save lives as it can carry, including the formula of babies, medical supplies and more. “Disassembled and not violent, ‘Madleen’ does not represent a threat. She sails according to international law. Any attack or interference will be a deliberate and illegal assault on civilians.”
While the crew tries to reach the banks of Gaza, they expect their trip to generate “international awareness” on the ongoing humanitarian crisis, activists said at a press conference on Sunday, before the game.
“We are doing this because, no matter what chance we are against, we have to keep trying,” said Thunberg, exploding in crying during his speech.
“Because the moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity. And it doesn’t matter how dangerous this mission is not even as dangerous as the silence of the whole world in the face of living transmission genocide,” he added.

Israel, which was founded after the Holocaust, has firmly rejected the accusations of genocide against him as a “anti -Semitic blood defamation”.
In mid -May, Israel slightly relieved its gaza blockade after almost three months, allowing a limited amount of humanitarian aid in the territory.
Experts have warned that Gaza is at risk of famine If no more help.
The UN agencies and the main help groups say that Israeli restrictions, the breakdown of the law and order and widespread looting make it extremely difficult to deliver help to the approximately 2 million Palestinians of Gaza.
The activists expect to take seven days to reach their destination, if they do not stop.
Thunberg, who became an internationally famous climate activist after organizing mass teenage protests in his native Sweden, had to address a boat of previous freedom last month.

That attempt to get to Gaza by Mar, at the beginning of May, failed after another of the group’s ships, the “conscience”, was attacked by two alleged drones while sailing in international waters off the coast of Malta.
The group blamed Israel for the attack, which damaged the front section of the ship, in the last confrontation for efforts to send assistance to the Palestinian territory devastated by almost 19 months of war.
The Israeli government says that the blockade is an attempt to press Hamas to release hostages that he took during the October 7, 2023 attack that triggered the conflict. The militants led by Hamas assaulted southern Israel that day, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 251. Hamas still has 58 hostages, 23 of which are believed to be alive.
In response, Israel launched an offensive that has killed more than 52,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, which does not distinguish between combatants and civilians. The bombing of Israel and land operations have destroyed vast areas of the territory and have left the majority of their homeless population.
The Flotilla Group was only the last among a growing number of critics in accusing Israel of genocidal acts in their war in Gaza. Israel vehemently denies the accusations, saying that his war is aimed at the militants of Hamas, not to Gaza’s civilians.
“We are breaking the siege of Gaza by sea, but that is part of a broader strategy of mobilizations that will also try to break the siege by land,” said activist Thiago Avila.
Avila cited the next global march to Gaza, an international initiative also open to doctors, lawyers and media, which will leave Egypt and arrive at Rafah’s crossing in mid -June to organize a protest there, asking Israel to stop Gaza’s offensive and reopen the border.
