Tom Felton, better known for his interpretation of Draco Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” film franchise, is making the screen leap to the stage.

The British actor is ready to repeat his iconic role in “Harry Potter and the cursed child” in Broadway this fall. This will mark the first time that an original film actor “Harry Potter” joins scenic production, which premiered in London in 2016 and opened on Broadway two years later.

Appearing on Thursday “Today” of NBC, Felton described his next period in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, which also marks his Broadway debut, as a “Pinco Situation.”

“I’m still thinking that I am dreaming,” explained the 37 -year -old actor. “I let that character 16 years ago, and now I have the opportunity to go back in his shoes as a father this time, in a new story … I can meet Draco as an adult, which is very exciting.”

The actor also admitted that “he immediately began to cry” when he put on the iconic blond wig of Draco again: “It is such a great part of my childhood. It is as if I was back to high school.”

In an email, the producers of “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child”, Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, said they were “more than excited to welcome Tom back” home “but also a new family: our Broadway company.”

“We are not missed that this is a cultural moment accused of nostalgia, evolution and emotion,” they added in the email statement. “The return of Tom to Hogwarts put generations of fans and gives new life to a dear story … we can wait to see him inhabit this role once again with the same depth, gravity and humanity that has always brought Draco.”

Felton’s 19 weeks Broadway race will begin on November 11.

“Harry Potter and the Currse Child” takes place 19 years after “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows”, the final book of the author JK Rowling, and is based on an original Rowling story, Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany. The work, which won six Tony awards, picks up Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley as adults, with their children who now attend Hogwarts.

In his native England, Felton has starred in the plays “2:22 to Ghost Story” and “A son of science.”

In the years since his film mandate “Harry Potter” came to an end, he also remained active on the big screen, appearing in “Other Woman” and “Altered”, among other films.
