Tom Cruise establishes the worldwide record of Guinness for the death of death
The actor nominated for the Oscar has spent the last two decades mainly focused on his films “Mission: Impossible” full of action, and has just established a worldwide guinness record for one of the most daring acrobatics of the series.
The British institution announced Thursday that Cruise now has the title of “Most Burning Parachute Salta of an individual” for jumping from a helicopter 16 times before lighting his channel in the last installment of the franchise, “The Final Reckoning”.
“Tom not only plays the action heroes, he is an action hero!” Craig Glenday, Guinness World Records editor wrote. “A large part of its success can be attributed to its absolute approach to authenticity and push the limits of what a protagonist can do.”
Cruise and Paramount Pictures published images behind the scene of the trick on social networks. You can see Cruise and director Christopher Mcquarrie conspiring the logistics with the acrobatics coordinators and recognizing the danger before Cruise tries his jump.
The trick was filmed in Drakensberg, South Africa.
“What I am going to do is deploy,” says Cruise in the footage, filmed during a production meeting. “If this is twisted while burning, I’m going to turn and burn. I have to get out of the turn and then light in 10 seconds.”
The result on the screen shows the character of Cruise, Ethan Hunt, forced to cut the facts of burning nylon free to display a reserve ramp in the last second. The trick was shot with a ramp that was soaked in fuel to light the fire.

In the course of his films, Cruise has run along the 163 -story Burj Khalifa in Dubai (“Ghost protocol”), has taken advantage of a plane during takeoff (“Nation Rogue”) and the base climbed into a cannon after going from a cliff (“Dead Reckoning”).
“Tom is no stranger to record rupture,” Glenday wrote on Thursday.
Cruise has another Guinness title for “more consecutive films of $ 100 million” for an actor, for the 11 films between “Jack Reacher” (2012) and “Final Chemoning”. The latter reached theaters at the end of May and has raised almost $ 400 million worldwide.
