Representative Mary Miller loses it

The representative Mary Miller, a Republican from Illinois who once praised Adolf Hitler, wrote, edited and finally eliminated a publication on social networks that denounced “a Muslim” who speaks in Congress.

“It is deeply worrying that a Muslim would be allowed to lead prayer in the House of Representatives this morning. This should never have allowed us to happen,” he wrote on Friday. “American was founded as a Christian nation, and I think our government should reflect that truth. God has mercy!”

The man who directed prayer was the guest chaplain Giani Singh, a follower of the SIJ faith, not Islam. Miller’s Republican colleague representative, Jeff Van Drew (NJ), presented it as such Friday.

“Day after day, year after year, leads not only with words. But with the example, with peace, with humility, with service to all,” said Van Drew. “These are not just SIJ values, they are US values.”

He pointed out that Singh was serving as a guest chaplain on the 81st anniversary of day D, when “Sij soldiers fought shoulder shoulder with allied forces” on the Normandy beaches in 1944.

Miller finally edited his publication to change “a Muslim” to “a SIJ”, but left the rest of his intact racist position. Finally, he eliminated it completely.

A Miller spokesman did not immediately respond to News themezone’s consultations about the position or his decision to eliminate it.

However, his fellow legislators responded quickly. The representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (Dn.J.) reflected Miller’s publication with some adjustments.

“It is deeply worrying that someone with so much contempt for religious freedom can serve in this body,” he wrote. “This should never have been allowed to happen. The United States was founded as a free nation, and I think the behavior of its legislators should reflect that truth, not drifting further from it.”

The representative Grace Meng (DN.Y.) was horrified in a similar way.

“What is deeply disturbing is flagrant ignorance and anti-sikh xenophobia, an anti-musulman that comes from my colleague through the hall,” he wrote. “There is no place in our country, and especially in the halls of Congress, for this hatred and intolerance. The tweet may have been eliminated, but we still have the receipts.”

The Caucus of the Asian Pacific of Congress, which President Meng also called Miller’s ignorance about Sijismo, which has more than 24 million followers and constitutes one of the world’s largest religions.

“Sikhs and Muslims practice two separate and different religions, and combine the two based on how someone looks not only ignorant but also racist,” Caucus wrote in a publication about X. “The United States was based on the principle of religious freedom. It is shameful that someone who has such disorder for the values of our nation can serve in the rooms of the congresses.”

Miller gave Hitler the famous hat shortly after being chosen for Congress in 2020.

“Hitler was right in one thing,” he said in an event held by the conservative group Moms For America. “He said: ‘Whoever has the youth has the future.'”
