The Athletic Director of Florida A&M has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $ 24,000 of his former employer.
Angela Suggs was delivered in Leon County prison on Monday and faces several positions, including the serious crime of robbery and serious crime to disappoint. Suggs, who was later released on bail, also faces four false claims charges on travel coupons, all of which are minor crimes in Florida.

The past fall, the Department of Application of the Law of Florida launched an investigation after receiving a criminal reference from the Inspector General of the Florida Commerce.

Suggs commercial credit card purchases were audited, and showed that he allegedly falsified travel coupons when presenting them as meals or said they were made by accident. Suggs has also supposedly paid the Florida Sports Foundation for personal expenses.

Suggs, 55, was hired by Florida A&M, from which he graduated, almost at the same time that the investigation was launched. It has been CEO of Florida Sports Foundation for the past seven years.
“The University of Florida A&M is aware of the accusations that involve our director of Athletics, Angela Suggs, while working with a former employer,” said A&M’s interim president Timothy Beard, in a statement to WTXL.
“While the matter is not related to its duties as a family employee, we are monitoring the situation and we will respond in the future as appropriate.”

Suggs had already made a great hiring in his new role, since former NBA player Charlie Ward was brought as the school chief coach of the school. It comes with the hope of taking Rattlers to the NCAA tournament, a place where they have not been in almost 20 years.
