Trump attends triumph
As protests against its immigration policies throughout the country, President Donald Trump is seeing one of his favorite musicals on Wednesday night: “Les Misérables”, the story of an anti -government survey, abusive police and hard imprisonment.
Trump goes to the opening night of the one -month career of the famous musical in Washington, the John F. Kennedy Center for DC for the performing arts, whose entire board of directors replaced in February and made them appoint him president.
“We have seen it many times,” Trump said when he arrived at the Kennedy center with the first lady Melania Trump. “I love it. One of my favorites.”
When a journalist asked him with what side of the musical conflict he identified more, Trump laughed and refused to respond.
“That’s hard. You better respond to that, honey,” he said, pointing to the first lady. “I don’t know.”

When another journalist asked how he felt about the reports that some of the “misérable” would boycott the night of his performance, Trump said “he couldn’t care less.”
“All I do is direct the country well,” he replied.
Trump received a mixture of cheers and boos when he took a seat in the theater. His assistance occurs after deploying National Guard troops to face protesters in large part in Los Angeles and announced that he was sending the Marines, despite the rejection of local leadership.
“Les Misérables”, the musical based on the 1862 novel of the same name, tells the story of the French peasant Jean Valjean after a 19 -year prison sentence emerges for stealing a bread bar for his niece. Much of the musical centers around the manifestations of the students against the French monarchy.
One of the most recognizable songs in the musical: “Do you listen to people to sing?” -He has a long history as hymn in prodemocratic manifestations. He is also an apparent Trump favorite, since he played the song just before walking on stage to announce his third presidential race in 2022.
Several Drag artists also attended the show on Wednesday night to protest Trump, who announced in February that there would be no “drag shows or other anti -American propaganda” at the Kennedy center in the future. They received applause while entering the theater, shows social networks videos.

“The theater is supposed to be a place of community, a place of storytelling, a place of celebration, joy, catharsis and should be open and available for everyone,” said NPR on Wednesday.

The former Vice President of Trump, Mike Pence, caused a stir similarly when he went to see “Hamilton” shortly after winning the 2016 elections. He was booed aloud when he arrived at the Manhattan Theater. When Pence tried to leave the theater after the final call of the curtain, actor Brandon Dixon, who played the role of Aaron Burr, asked him to stay and handed him a message.
“We, Lord, are the various America, that we are alarmed and anxious that their new administration does not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and maintain our inalienable rights,” said Dixon.
“We really hope that this program has inspired him to defend our US values and to work on the name of all of us,” he continued.
