New York (AP) – Denis Villeneuve goes from “Duna” to link.
Amazonmgm announced Wednesday that Villeneuve will lead the next James Bond movie. The film without a title will be the first since the study took creative reins of the famous film franchise after decades of control of the Broccoli family.
Producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman had maintained that before the next link was broadcast, they would develop a script and find a director first. Now, they have one of the most respected box office manufacturers in Hollywood that comes from a pair of broadly acclaimed “Dune” films.
In a statement, Villeneuve said he grew up watching Bond movies.
“I am a Bond fan. For me, he is sacred territory,” said Villeneuve. “I intend to honor tradition and open the way for many new missions. This is a massive responsibility, but also incredibly exciting for me and a great honor.”

Since he took the creative control of Bond in February, Amazonmgm has worked quickly to launch the next film. The study is also trying to win the skeptical fans of the new corporate leadership of 007 and the probability of future Spin -offs.
“James Bond is in the hands of one of today’s best filmmakers,” said Mike Hopkins, Video Prime and Amazon MGM Studios.
With Pascal and Heyman housed as producers and Villeneuve behind the camera, the next Bond film will have an enviable brain confidence. Villeneuve beat a directors field that floated for the film, including Edward Berger (“Concónimo”), Paul King (“Paddington 2”), Edgar Wright (“Baby Driver”) and Jonathan Nolan, co-creator of “Westworld” and brother of Christopher Nolan.

“Denis Villeneuve has been in love with James Bond’s films since he was a child,” said Pascal and Heyman. “It was always his dream to make this movie, and now it is also ours.”
