Katie Couric is not impressed by the bridal style of Lauren Sánchez, or, at least, Vogue’s decision to introduce Sánchez in her wedding dress before her nuptials to the founder of Amazon Jeff Jeff Bezos last week.

The former presenter of “News Evening News” and “Today” offered a less version of the History of Digital Cover of June de Vogue, which shows Sánchez posing with the Dolce & Gabbana custom dress that took to his wedding on June 27 in Venice, Italy.

“Welcome to the eighties, when the big hair and conspicuous consumption were declared,” Couric wrote on Instagram after Jack Schlossberg shared the image in his account. “Apparently sticky has returned.”

Schlossberg, former President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, apparently agreed with Couric’s evaluation.

“We bring the scrunchies,” he joked.

Although Schlossberg seems to have eliminated its publication, Couric’s comment has been captured for posterity in social networks, as well as a handful of media, including E! Online and daily beast.

Sánchez, not alien to criticism of his fashion elections, told Vogue that his dress had been inspired by Sophia Loren, more specifically, the cord and high -neck dress that the actor wore in the 1958 film “Houseboat”, co -starring Cary Grant.

“I investigated girlfriend photos in the 1950s,” he told The Outlet. “I wanted to reflect, and I saw Sophia Loren and her hands were like that and she was on high lace, to her neck, and I said: ‘That is. That is the dress'”.

“It is a deviation of what people expect, of what Yo Wait, but I’m very me, “he continued before revealing that Bezos had begged to see the dress before the wedding.” I almost gave up! But I want it to be a surprise. As you get a bit, not many things surprise you. I can’t wait to see his face. “

Although the details remained a large extent, the wedding of Bezos and Sánchez has reached the headlines for weeks. The list of guests full of stars included celebrities such as Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ivanka Trump and Oprah Winfrey.

The ceremony, which, according to the reports, cost $ 50 million, caused protests from some Venice locals that argued that it was an exploitation of the Italian city, which faces the constant threat of floods induced by the climate.
