A role in “The Devil Wears Prada” is one for which many would kill, but an original cast member is officially out of fashion.

In 2024, the news of a sequel to the iconic film resonated on the Internet. Fans were delighted to know that Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci would be repeating their roles. But some may also feel relieved in silence when listening to the love interest on Hathaway, Nate Cooper, played by the actor Adrian Grenier will not return, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The original 2006 film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, has caused speculation for a long time about its inspiration. Weisberger, former Anna Wintour assistant, offered an internal look at a fictional fashion world governed by Miranda Priery, played by Streep. For years, fans have made comparisons between Priestly and Wintour.

In December last year, Wintour approached long speculation.

“[It’s] For the audience and for the people I work with to decide if there is any similarity between priest and I Miranda, ”he said.

Wintour, who recently resigned after 37 years as an editor in Chief of Vogue, also pointed out that the stories of his public personality do not interest him. His approach, he said, follows firmly in the “creative aspect” of his work.

As for the sequel, the plot will focus on the battle of Priestly to keep a magazine with difficulties, while facing his former assistant, Emily Carlton, played by Blunt. The details of how Hathaway’s character will influence the story are not yet clear.
