Cassie Ventura’s lawyer recognizes the impact of his client after the verdict in the case of Sex Crimes of Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Although combs was acquitted of the most serious sexual and extortion positions, lawyer Douglas H. Wigdor recognized Ventura for bravely opening the door for other victims to appear in a statement given to the press on Wednesday.
“All this criminal process began when our Cassie Ventura client had the courage to file his civil complaint in November 2023,” he wrote in a statement published by Newsweek. “Although the jury did not find Cassie’s guilty combs beyond a reasonable doubt, he raided the way for a jury to find him guilty of transport to participate in prostitution.”
Diddy was convicted of two minor prostitution positions and still faces up to 20 years in prison for those crimes.
Wigdor said that Ventura’s decision to face his abuser in court still helped provide justice to previously intimidated victims to call powerful men in the entertainment world.

The statement continued: “When presenting his experience, Cassie has left an indelible brand in both the entertainment industry and in the struggle for justice. We must repeat, without reservations, that we believe and support our client that showed an exemplary courage during this trial.”
