Pentagon confirms pause in Ukraine Aid, blames Biden for sending too many weapons
Washington-A week after President Donald Trump told an anguished Ukrainian journalist that he would try to make available to his country at his country, his defense department confirmed on Wednesday a break in the shipments of weapons to Ukraine and blamed Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden.
“For a long time, four years under the Biden administration, we were giving away weapons and ammunition without really thinking about how many we have,” said Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell to journalists in a rare information about the press.
He called for a “review” that applies not only to Ukraine but to all countries, even while the United States continues to supply Israel weapons.
“It is a capacity review that is being carried out to ensure that the military aid of the United States aligns with our defense priorities,” said Parnell. “In the future, we see this as a pragmatic and common sense step to have a framework to assess which ammunition are sent and where.”
Parnell’s statement that the low Biden Pentagon was sending weapons to places without monitoring is false. The president of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was required to complete a preparation evaluation with each transfer.
“Russia and China could not do a better job by weakening the national defense of the United States than these unqualified clowns,” said former White House spokesman for Biden, Andrew Bates. “The bipartisan support for Ukraine keeps us safe and creates manufacturing jobs throughout the country, even in a large red state.”
Parnell’s statements occurred when some Republicans of the Congress expressed consternation for the published reports of Trump’s decision to stop the aid in the midst of Russia’s attacks against the cities of Ukraine.
“Mr. President, the Ukrainian soldiers and pilots not only protect their homeland, they are maintaining the line for the entire democratic world,” wrote the representative of Pennsylvania, Brian Fitzpatrick, in a letter from Wednesday to Trump. “This is a decisive moment: the courage of Ukraine must continue to fulfill the action, and the United States must continue to lead with clarity and purpose.”

Exactly one week ago, at the end of the NATO Summit in the Netherlands, Trump told a Ukraine reporter, clearly emotional about daily missiles and attacks with unmanned airplanes in his country ordered by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, which he would try to help.
“Wow, that’s something difficult, right? That’s difficult,” he said, seeming to empathize with the difficult situation in the country. “I mean, I can see that it is very annoying for you.”
However, that answer is new to Trump, who in the first days of Putin’s invasion in 2022, which was even pointing and killing civilians, called him “intelligent” and “genius.” Sometimes, he has blamed Ukraine for being invaded.
“You don’t start a war against someone 20 times your size and then I hope people give you some missiles,” said April 15, a day after a Russian alluvion killed 35 Ukrainians.
Parnell said the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, was carrying out Trump’s goal to “bring this tragic war to its end.”
In his 25 -minute question and answers session, Parnell also defended and even went far beyond Trump’s disputed that last month’s air strike ordered Iran’s nuclear facilities, “erased.”
“We have the most lethal struggle force in the world. And if you need more evidence of that, do not look beyond the Midnight Hammer operation and the total elimination of Iran’s nuclear ambitions,” he said, claiming that the “very strong psychological cost” in the leaders of Iran has led them to give up all hope of acquiring a nuclear weapon.

However, Parnell did not quote any specific intelligence evaluation that supports that statement.
