Nancy Mace
The representative Nancy Mace (RS.C.) seems to be enjoying in the new Immigrant Detention Center of Florida, an improvised installation that is surrounded by a dangerous wild life and has been called “Alcatraz Alcatraz”, and says that he wants his native state of South Carolina to also have one.
“Dear DHS: we have a swamp and a dream,” Mace wrote on Tuesday in X, the platform previously known as Twitter. “Let’s talk. The South Carolina Gators are ready. And they are not great in the paperwork. If I were governor, we would bring Aligator Alcatraz to South Carolina.”
Mace was criticized on social networks as “disturbed”, “viles” and “grotesque” to celebrate the installation, that legal experts warned that they could involuntarily encourage human rights abuses. Mace accompanied his publication with a selfie that showed his body armor, who did not escape his critics.
“His constant need to be the center of attention is really something to witness,” wrote a user in X. “How can someone so vapid consume so much oxygen that our trees work hard to produce? Who is the vest?
Others were much more altered with their apparent joy before the perspective of cureing migrants.
“This seems perverse. Where is the precedent for this in the teachings of Christ?” A user wrote, with another person commenting: “Translation: Nancy Mace is in favor of the concentration camps for illegal immigrants (they will soon be citizens more than probably).”
President Donald Trump visited Florida’s facilities on Tuesday, which was built in a matter of days in wetlands full of pythons and caimanes, and joked before his trip that immigrants trying to escape will have to learn to flee from mortal predators.

“The snakes are fast but the caimanes: we teach you how to flee from a crocodile … do not run in a straight line, they run like this,” Trump told the press while we make a movement in Zigzag with our hands. “You know what, your possibilities increase around 1%.”
The installation is expected to be backed by the state government and the Department of National Security, maintain up to 5,000 beds. Trump joined during his visit by the governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, his former Nemesis of the Republican Party in the primary elections of 2024.
While Trump is making fun of the way he described his new relationship with Desantis, Mace, who published a video in January of a travel trip with ice agents to catch undocumented workers, is being ridiculed by his apparent indifference for his fight.
