Pearl Jams Drummer makes a surprise announcement after 27 years with the band
Drummer Matt Cameron surprised fans by announcing his departure from Pearl Jam after the conclusion of the legendary World Rock Band matter.
Cameron and his bandmates confirmed the news on Monday in a couple of publications on social networks, but in particular they did not offer a reason for the unexpected out of the musician.
“After 27 fantastic years, I have taken my final steps for the head of the battery for the powerful Jam de Pearl,” Cameron said, before thanking the main singer Eddie Vedder, the guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready and the bassist Jeff Ament for “giving me the opportunity of a life, full of friendships, artists, challenges and caught.”
“I am always grateful to the crew, staff and fans around the world. It has been an incredible trip. More to follow,” he continued. “I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.”

Pearl Jam shared similar feelings in his statement, praising Cameron as “a unique and true power of a musician and drummer.”
“He has promoted the last 27 years of Pearl Jam Live shows and study recordings,” the band wrote. “It was a deeply important chapter for our group and we wish him the best we will always miss it and it is forever our friend in art and music. We love you Matt.”

For Monday afternoon, Cameron’s announcement had attracted a lot of support comments from other musicians and other public figures.
“You have inspired us all and you will continue. All the best, Matt,” ” Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk wrote on Instagram.
The “Gossip Girl” actor and the beautiful reckless leader Taylor Momsen said: “You are and you will continue to be incredible in everything you do.”
Cameron, Native of San Diego, California, jumped to fame in the late 1980s as drummer of the rock band Soundgarden, who, like Pearl Jam, began in Seattle. He joined Pearl Jam in 1998, a year after Soundgarden’s first break.

In 2010, he started playing with Pearl Jam and Soundgarden after the last band was annoyed again, until the main singer of Soundgarden’s death of 2017, Chris Cornell.
Although Cameron was Pearl Jam’s fifth drummer, his period was considerably longer than each of his predecessors. Dave Krusen, the band’s first drummer, was recruited by Gossard and former guitarist Jeff Ament in 1990, but left after a year.
He was then replaced by Matt Chamberlain, who played with the band for just a few weeks before Dave Abbruzsee took over. Jack Irons intervened after Abbruzsese’s departure in 1994, and Cameron was happened four years later.

Cameron was first included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 as a member of Pearl Jam. The 62 -year -old will be included for the second time at the end of this year, this time as a member of Soundgarden.
