The statue of freedom covers his face with his hands, with shame, sadness and horror, in a new mural of politically loaded street art that has been painted in northern France and that the magic supporters of President Donald Trump are melting.

Leeuw’s Netherlands Judith’s artist also known as JDL Street Art, painted the piece in Roubaix last week.

“I created this piece because my heart breaks when I look at the state of the world today,” Leeuw told News themezone. “I am deeply concerned, not only for the fragile friendship between the EU and the United States, but also for the cruelty of current immigration policies. As an artist, I feel a moral obligation to speak when the world is sore. This work is my voice.”

The Netherlands artist, Judith de Leeuw, painted the piece of the statue of liberty in Roubaix, France.

De Leeuw admitted that he had been surprised by how many millions of people have seen images of his last online work, and for the reaction of Trump’s voters.

The representative Tim Burchett (R-Ten.) Commented on X, previously Twitter, that the piece “disgusts me.” “If any country should be kissing our butt, it is France. My uncle Roy fought and died and is buried there for his freedom,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the controversial Libs of the Tiktok account said the “artist has a sad case of TDS”, or the so -called Trump disorder syndrome.

But Leeuw said he doesn’t regret it.

“I support what I have done. In a world that feels increasingly unfair, I think activism is not a choice, but a duty,” he told News themezone.

From the meaning of the piece, he explained: “The original statue of freedom was a gift from France to the United States, a symbol that everyone should be free: free to exist, free from being themselves. But today we have to ask: ‘Is that true?'”

The work of art has generated a violent reaction of the supporters of Donald Trump.

The ongoing immigration repression of the Trump administration was a particular spur to action, he said, and pointed out that he could not “witness this type of injustice without responding.”

“They raised me in a Moroccan neighborhood in Amsterdam and then lived in a predominantly African and Surinamese district,” he recalled. “Amsterdam is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, and I have always considered that diversity is a gift: it fills our streets of color, culture and joy. Roubaix also has one of the highest immigrants of immigrants in France. We share that experience, that understanding.”

De Leeuw acknowledged that his political art can now make it difficult to travel to America.

“It may never be allowed to return to the United States,” he said.

“Instagram already warned me that my account could be eliminated,” he continued. “I have also heard that I can lose commissions because of this. But if that is the price to do what I think is correct, then, so it is.”

“When friends ask me if it was prudent to make this movement, I always say,
“If I had been Adolf Hitler’s best friend, he could have been a millionaire for 1940. But what would that say about me?” He added.
