The wife of Lufthansa The CEO Carsten Spohr said Friday that it was “completely available” by the Italian judicial authorities after the death of a 24 -year -old woman who was hit by a vehicle in Sardinia.

The local media reports said that Vivian Spohr was behind the wheel of a SUV that was in collision with a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing on Tuesday in the coastal complex of Porto Cervo. Gaia Costa, 24, of Temipio Pausania, in the Gallura region in northern Sardinia, died of serious head wounds in the place, according to reports.

Italien News, citing researchers, reported that Spohr initially left because he said he had not realized what happened, but passers -by caught their attention and stopped. The authorities are investigating whether Spohr may have been distracted by his cell phone while driving, Italien News reported.

In a statement issued by her Italian lawyer on Friday, the 51 -year -old German businesswoman expressed “consternation and deep sadness for this serious accident, which has devastated a family, the city of Temipio and the entire community of Gallura.”

The statement added that SPOHR is placed “at the complete disposition of the Italian judicial authorities for the necessary investigations and, although aware that such a large personal loss cannot be repaired, it will take measures to mitigate its consequences.”

The coast family has not yet commented publicly, but his lawyer, Antonello Disini, told La Repubblica: “At this time, we must respect the pain of a broken family.”

Spohr had stayed in his family’s holiday house when the accident occurred, local media reported. He returned to Germany shortly after the accident.

According to Forbes, Deutsche Lufthansa has more than 100,000 employees and last year he obtained $ 1.5 billion in earnings.
