Dolly Parton says that her late husband was perfect for her due to this unexpected quality
Dolly Parton is opening on the special link she shared with her late husband, Carl Dean, with whom she was married for almost 60 years.
Parton talked about why the two were so compatible in the last episode of Khloe Kardashian’s podcast, “Khloé in Wonder Land”, which was launched on Wednesday.
“You know, I’m not one of those people who have to have someone around me all the time. In fact, I don’t like it,” said Parton. “I mean, I have to be in the public and I belong to the public, but I am such a private person and my husband was too.”
“And that was what I was with us. We were very good for each other because it is a solitary total,” said Country singer about the unexpected quality he found in Dean. “We could be at home all day and say two or three words, they didn’t matter. Or we could talk all afternoon, and sleep in bed, talk at night.”
Kardashian asked Parton if his marriage was so successful because he was very private.

“We were different people. I was not involved in the music business at all. He loved music, but he was a lonely, as he had said before,” Parton shared. “I didn’t want a lot of people around him except me.”
He added that “there are only certain personalities that are excellent for each other and we were together 61 years.” Parton and Dean met for the first time in 1964.
She said the two “were so different” but also “so similar.”
Dean, who inspired one of Parton’s most emblematic songs, “Jolene,” died in March. He was 82 years old.
The actor “9 to 5” opened on how he was in front of the death of his beloved husband, and described him as “a hole in my heart.”
“But we will fill it with good things, and he will always be with me,” he told Knox News in March. “He suffered a lot, so I’m at peace with him alone.”
