Several months after the National Parks Service eliminated several references to the transgender people of their website for the National Stonewall monument, the bisexuality mentions were the following in the cutting block.
The journalist Erin Reed reported earlier this week that multiple references to bisexuality had been eliminated from the home page and the “History and Culture” section for the monument, which commemorates the 1969 Stonewall uprising in New York City that marked a crucial point in the LGBTQ rights movement.
After Reed’s reports on elimination, a reference to bisexuality to the site had been added, although others remained absent until Saturday morning.
In February, after President Donald Trump assumed the position and promised to take energetic measures against the initiatives of diversity, equity and inclusion, the parks service eliminated several instances of the words “transgender” and queer “of the Stonewall site. It also reduced the T and Q letters of the LGBTQ acronym, changing terms such as” Civil LGBTQ rights “to” LGB rights “to” LGB rights. “

Now, references to bisexuality have also been silently eliminated. On May 27, the Stonewall Monument Home page made reference to “live openly as a lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB).” Later that day, he changed to “live authentically as a gay or lesbian person.”
Similarly, the “History and Culture” section of the site included the phrases “to live openly as a lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB)”, “people who would identify today as LGB” and “civil rights of LGB”.
Those were replaced, respectively, with “gay and lesbian civil rights”, “people who would identify today as a member of the community” and “openly living as a member of the Stonewall community [sic]. “
Until Saturday, “bisexual” returned to the start page of the monument, but the changes on the “History and Culture” page remained. The National Parks Service did not immediately respond to a request for comments from News themezone.
