Jessica Simpson says no

While making his highly anticipated return to the music scene, Jessica Simpson is sharing anecdotes about some of the main changes in her private life that took place during her pause.

In an appearance on Wednesday in “Today” of NBC, the singer and television personality told Jenna Bush Hager and Willie Geist that she had not expected to get pregnant with Son Ace, now 11, only four months after her and her ex -husband Eric Johnson welcomed her first son, her daughter Maxwell, now 13.

“My firstborn is now 13 years old,” Simpson explained. “But when I had it, I thought: ‘You know what, I will concentrate on the Jessica Simpson collection and I go to mom.”

She continued observing: “I became pregnant four months later, without thinking that I could get pregnant while breastfeeding … it’s like, wait, what? I am 1%? Of course, I am 1%.”

Studies have shown that breastfeeding can be used as a temporary form of birth control, known as the method of lactational amenorrhea (LAM), since women’s bodies stop ovulating naturally when they breastfeed their child exclusively.

However, as Planned Parenthood points out, there are warnings. The use of a milk extractor, or that your child alternates between breast milk and formula, can reduce its effectiveness. Around two out of 100 people who perfectly use the LAM method, which means that they breastfeed their son exclusively, will be pregnant in the first 6 months after his baby is born.
