James Van der Beek is opening on a painful chapter in his life.

The “Dawson’s Creek” student shared a sincere update about his battle with the colorectal cancer of stage 3, offering fans an emotional vision of the force that has led him to face every day.

Van der Beek, who was diagnosed in 2023, shared a Thursday interview with the “Today” program that life with the disease may seem like a “full -time work.”

“It has been a trip,” he said. “There are so many ups and downs.”

Van der Beek was asked if there were warning signs. He revealed that it was “nothing that made him hurry” to review it, and that is why he wants to “run the voice” to be examined, because “you don’t have to have symptoms.”

Six -year -old father shared that after his diagnosis, “he takes things more slowly” and “appreciates every moment.”

“Post-Cancer is really accepting people’s help and allowing my friends to appear in my life in a way that was not because I was trying to be Superman,” said the actor “Varsity Blues.”

Then he asked what advice he would give to parents that they can be on the same medical path in which he is.

“I am far from being an expert, but our approach was to be as honest as possible,” he said, added that Honesty with children must be measured “to the degree of their own understanding.”
