Noah Wyle responds to the statements that Pitt is a shameful scam of ER
Noah Wyle is enjoying a professional resurgence thanks to “The Pitt”, Max’s medical drama that began production after a “ER” rebirth, the NBC series that made it a family name 30 years ago, could not take off.
In addition to Wyle, “The Pitt” is created by R. Scott Gemmill and executive produced by John Wells, who also worked on “ER”. However, the success of the program has led Sherri Crichton, the widow of the creator of “ER”, Michael Crichton, who died in 2008-to file a lawsuit for breach of contract against Gemmill, Wells, Wyle and Warner Bros. Television. According to the demand, “The Pitt” is simply a rebirth of “er” “under a different name” and, therefore, “a shameful betrayal of [Michael] Crichton and his legacy. ”
Speaking to Variety in an interview published on Wednesday, Wyle admitted that he was sad for legal agitation and shrugged from Sherri Crichton’s statements.
“The only thing I can legally speak is how I feel emotionally, which is deeply sad and disappointed,” he said. “This contaminates the legacy, and should not have done it. In a moment, this could have been an association. And when it was not an association, I did not need to become acrimony.

Wyle also annulled the implication that the elements of the now missing “ER” reworked in “the Pitt”.
“We pivot as far in the opposite direction as we could to tell the story we wanted to tell, and not for litigious reasons, but because we did not want to reimburse our own creative work,” he said.

According to all reports, “The Pitt” is a critical and commercial success, and has already been renewed for a second season. The series, which debuted in January, stars Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, a doctor from the emergency room at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital who is dealing with his experiences after the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In another part of his variety interview, Wyle shared how his own frustrations with the global divisive response to COVID-19 have influenced their performance.
“It seems irritating that we still cannot reach a consensus that masks reduce the transmission of the disease,” he said. “It seems irritating that we still do not recognize that vaccines are an important way to eradicate the disease. It seems irritating that we are where we are at this time. So I wanted to make a show that re -focuses on what is an objective medical event.”
