The woman uses Neuralink to write the name with her mind
NEWNow you can listen to News articles!
Audrey Crews has not written its name in more than 20 years, that is, until now.
Thanks to an Elon Musk’s neuralink brain chip, the equipment only used their thoughts to scribble “Audrey” on a portable screen. She shared the photo in X, impressive million on the Internet and won a greeting from Musk himself.

At 16, crews lost all motor function. Now, at 39, it is part of Neuralink’s main study, which proves the technology of the cerebral computer interface (BCI) in humans. Its chip, implanted in its motor cortex, reads brain signals and sends them to a computer. It allows you to move a cursor and a guy, using only your thoughts.
In their own words, “they pierced a hole in my skull and placed 128 threads in my motor cortex. The chip is approximately the size of a room.”
While the chip does not restore movement, it gives something powerful: digital autonomy. She shared a photo of her signature in X and wrote: “I tried to write my name for the first time in 20 years. I am working on it. Lol #neuralink.”
He expressed his gratitude to the medical team at the Health Center of the University of Miami. “They treated me as a VIP and they are some of the sweetest people I have met,” he added.

Musk confirmed his online achievement, writing: “Most people don’t realize that this is possible.”
That only appointment shook internet. The publication shown by his scribble firm quickly went viral, with more than 2 million visits. The teams clarified that the chip is only for “telepathy”, not mobility. But even that level of control can transform the lives of people with paralysis.
Neurablefounded by Musk in 2016, aims to help people with neurological conditions connect with the digital world in new ways. The company is developing BCI that allow users to control devices using only their thoughts.
While it is still in its early stages, this technology is already showing potential that changes life. Looking to the future, Neuralink imagines a future where thought controlled by thought becomes a daily part of human life.

Neuralink’s trial expands: P8 Nick Wray shares his experience in Chip Brain
The teams are not alone on this trip. Another participant, Nick Wray (P8), shared his progress just days after his own implant activation.
“I have not had this level of digital autonomy in years,” he wrote.
Diagnosed with ELA, Wray called the implant an opportunity that changes life. He sees this moment as personal and historical, writing, “He does not miss that without ela, I would never have been a candidate for this study. I sincerely believe that if Als is the price of admission to an opportunity for this magnitude, you pay it; with pleasure, voluntarily, and without hesitation.”

What this means for you
It’s not just writing a name. It’s about what will come later. Neuralink’s brain chip is working on real people. If you ask if the interfaces of the brain computer could one day allow you to control your phone, write an email or play a game without touching a screen, that future is approaching.

While they are still experimental, these advances are a look at a new type of human-machine connection.
Neuralink is now accepting participants from all over the world. If you are curious about cerebral computer interfaces, this could be your opportunity to help shape the future. You can check it in https://neuralink.com/trials

Kurt’s Key Takeways
Audrey Crews rewritten more than his name. She rewritten the limits of what is possible. With a chip the size of a quarter, it became the first woman to control a computer with pure thought. Its history is not only inspiring, it is a warning for the technological world: the era of mental machines is coming faster than expected.
