And so, Sarah Jessica Parker found himself saying goodbye, and not only to a show, but to a version of herself that is used as her favorite Manolos pair.

The woman who gave life to Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City”, then later in his revival “and so on …”, is taking a moment to honor the character that shaped his professional identity. On Friday, it was learned that the series will end after its third season, and Parker scored the moment with an emotional tribute to the woman who has played for more than two decades.

“She / Crusade / Streets / Avenues / Rubicons, for what it seemed. “She / Beloved / Lost / Winned / stumbled / jumped / fell short and put in puddles / aged / became wiser.”

Carrie Bradshaw was never just a character: it was a cultural phenomenon. One of its famous lines commented that women move to New York City in search of “labels and love.” Although Bradshaw may have won a wide collection of labels, his love life in the two series and two films remained a chaotic masterpiece. Even so, she never hesitated in her devotion to the city that raised her.

“He dedicated himself to hats, books, shoes, friends and the promise of a new day in his beloved city and the people who treasured the most,” Parker wrote. “She has used shame, pride, honor, optimism and literally innumerable dresses, skirts, tutus. / Sustained in hands, hopes and the best people.”

Parker also thanked Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon) – Bradshaw’s Circle of Friends whom he later joined Sema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker).

“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional beat for 27 years. I think I have loved her above all,” Parker continued. “I know that others have loved her as me. I have been frustrated, condemned and rooted by her. The symphony of all these emotions has been the best soundtrack and the most consistent partner.”
