Actor Nicky Katt died on Tuesday at the age of 54, according to his personal lawyer.

The lawyer John Sloss confirmed that Katt died in Burbank, California, but refused to provide more details.

Native of Dakota del Sur, Katt began his career as a child actor, making his debut on the screen in an 1980 episode of “Fantasy Island”.

He went to land recurring papers in “Herbie, The Love Bug” on television and told Leland Lizard in the children’s cartoon “The Get Bound Gang”.

As an adult, Katt forged a niche playing threatening and morally murky characters, from the Clint Bruno High School in the classic of the 70s of Richard Linklater “Dazed and Confused” with a white supremacist children in the 1996 legal drama “A Time to Kill”.

On the small screen, Katt spent three seasons in David E. Kelley “Boston Public”, where he brought an unexpected depth and empathy the Rebelde Geology Master Harry Senate.

Although Katt once hinted at the aspirations of the main ones in a 2002 interview with Los Angeles Times, he admitted that he was attracted to darker and complex roles.

“Sometimes I think that if I made more squats and went to the tan hall, I could have much more power than now,” he said. “At the end of the day, you do what your instinct tells you to do.”
