Alec Baldwin crashes his car into a tree in the Hamptons
In fact, a car accident ended up saving brothers Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin from a serious disaster in the Hamptons on Monday afternoon.
The “30 Rock” actor spoke to his Instagram followers after the accident to let them know that he and his brother were okay after crashing Alec’s wife’s truck into a tree.
“This morning I was in a car accident, the guy cut me off in a big garbage truck. I mean, a garbage truck the size of a whale,” Baldwin told his fans in a video with the caption, “Thank you for your concern.”
“It must have been something commercial like removing construction material or something,” he added. “It was the biggest garbage truck I’ve ever seen.”

Baldwin said he swerved off the road to avoid hitting the massive vehicle, but then ended up crashing into “a big, fat tree.”
“I crushed my wife’s car and I feel bad about that,” he added. “But everything is fine and I’m fine and my brother is fine.”

East Hampton Police Chief Michael Sarlo corroborated Baldwin’s account in a statement to TMZ, confirming that Baldwin’s white 2023 Range Rover appeared to have “hit a tree” on the shoulder of the road “while avoiding the turn of a 2020 Mack commercial truck.”
He added that no injuries were reported and that his department would take no further action as the accident was found to be a “reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery, wet road conditions.”
