Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Gives Trump State Speech That’s Chilling
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said President Donald Trump’s death threats to Democratic lawmakers call into question his mental state.
“It’s not just shocking, it’s not just offensive. It’s strange, erratic, volatile,” he told reporters. “And I think it indicates a state of mind that we should all question right now… It’s not normal to make these accusations. It’s not normal to invoke these kinds of threats of violence.”

The progressive legislator made these statements on Friday. Trump has angered six Democratic congressmen with military and intelligence experience who released a video urging service members to refuse “unlawful orders.” It continued through the weekend.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who said threats against her spiked amid Trump’s incendiary attacks, and Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) led the clip amid turbulent times for service members. Trump has led legally contested federal deployments in blue cities that he says are aimed at curbing crime. The government has also ordered deadly attacks on suspected drug traffickers at sea, raising legal questions.
Trump called the creators of the video traitors and said their behavior was “punishable by death.” He even promoted a social entry calling for his hanging.
On Saturday he called it “sedition at the highest level” and said everyone involved should be in prison.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche strongly suggested last week that the Justice Department would investigate the matter.
