Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) claimed that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has been on a “revenge tour” because President Donald Trump and his cohorts “shut down” her Senate aspirations.

Greene, normally a Trump loyalist, has notably defied the president lately, pushing for the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s files and essentially siding with Democrats in the health care fight that is extending the government shutdown.

“Here’s some tea,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram live stream on Monday. “MTG, people are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s saying all these things, like, what’s been happening to her lately?’ ‘Oh, like she opposes Trump, opposes the administration.’”

“Marjorie Taylor Greene wanted to run for Senate in Georgia,” the Democrat continued. “She wanted to run for Senate earlier this year in the state of Georgia. She wanted to be the Republican Senate candidate. So she was preparing for that state race and Trump told her no.

“Trump said no. And the White House and Trump Land shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal ambitions to run for the Senate, and she’s been on a revenge tour ever since.”

Greene declared in May that she would not run to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff. “Even with a few good Republicans in the Senate, nothing changes,” he wrote on X at the time.

She indicated to The Hill on Tuesday that her position has not changed.

“I have already explained in a lengthy post that I have no interest in serving in the United States Senate. Look at the Senate right now, it is a total disaster,” Greene said in a statement.

In a moment when “hell froze over” on Tuesday, Greene appeared on “The View” and criticized “weak Republican men” but reaffirmed her loyalty to the president. “I love him,” he said.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Ocasio-Cortez’s comments.
