A 28 -year -old was arrested for allegedly trying to bombard the branch of the United States Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, earlier this month and threats against President Trump, federal prosecutors said on Sunday.

Joseph Neumayer, who has German citizenship and we, was arrested at the John F. Kennedy airport in New York City by special FBI agents after being deported from Israel.

According to prosecutors, Neumayer traveled to Israel in April. On May 19, he arrived at the United States Embassy in Tel Aviv with a backpack. Without provocation, Neumayer allegedly spit on an embassy guard while passing and could flee while the guard tried to stop him. He left his backpack out of the embassy after the fight.

A search in the backpack found three Molotov cocktails inside.

The Local Police tracked the 28 -year -old at his hotel, where he was arrested.

The researchers discovered that before traveling to the embassy, ​​Neumayer supposedly published on social networks: “Join me while burning the embassy in Tel Aviv. Death to America, death to Americans and fuck the west.” The authorities said Neumayer also published threatening messages on social networks aimed at President Trump.

Israel deported Neumayer on Sunday.

After his arrest in New York City, Neumayer was accused of trying to destroy, through fire or explosive, the United States embassy. If he is convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

“This defendant is accused of planning a devastating attack aimed at our embassy in Israel, threatening death to Americans and the life of President Trump,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi in a statement. “The department will not tolerate such violence and will prosecute this accused to the maximum extension of the law.”

The director of the FBI, Kash Patel, said in a statement that Neumayer’s alleged actions were “despicable and violent” and “will not be tolerated at home or abroad.”
