The United States ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee on Tuesday that he had “asked Israel to investly investigated the murder” of Saif Musalletan American Palestinian citizen who was visiting the family in the West Bank occupied by Israel when “was hit to death.”

The family’s statement said his younger brother led him to an ambulance after the group cleared, but that Musallet died before he could reach the hospital.

He had to return home in Tampa, Florida, this week, his relatives said.

Last week, Florida’s chapter of the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked President Trump to hold Israel for the death of Musallet and “put the United States first.”

“This murder is only the last murder of an American citizen by illegal Israeli settlers or soldiers,” said Cair-Florida Executive Director Imam Abdullah Jaber in a statement. “All other murders of an American citizen have been unpunished by the US government, so the Israeli government certainly keeps the American Palestinians and, of course, other Palestinians. If President Trump does not even put the United States first when Israel murders US citizens, then this is really a first administration of Israel.”

Other American citizens who have been killed in Israel’s West Bank include Al Jazeera journalist Abu Aklehwho died in 2022 and activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygiwho was killed last year. Both were allegedly killed by Israeli forces, and the Israeli army has said it is investigating, but no one has been responsible for any of their deaths to date.
