AOC joins a bipartisan effort to prevent Trump from entering a war in Iran
A contingent of progressive Democrats joins a bipartisan effort to prevent President Donald Trump from formally entering the Israel War to Iran, who began with Israel killing senior Iranian officials on Friday before the denuclearization conversations scheduled between Iran and the United States.
The resolution is directed by representative RO Khanna (D-Calif.) And will be presented on Tuesday by representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky), one of the few Republicans who voted against the “great and beautiful bill” of Trump. Announced the plan on Monday in X, previously Twitter.
“This is not our war,” Massie wrote. “But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution. I am introducing a resolution of bipartisan war powers tomorrow to prohibit our participation. I invite all members of Congress to co -cross this resolution.”
The representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) highlighted the position later that night with a simple confirmation, “signing”, after her partner “squad” Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich). He did the same, and pointed out that Trump would break the law by going to war “without a vote in Congress.”
“I hope to support this resolution of war powers,” Tlaib wrote on Monday night. “The American people are not falling again for that. They lied to us about ‘weapons of mass destruction’ in Iraq that killed millions of lives of + forever.”
Khanna also re -struggled Massie’s publication, and wrote on Monday in X: “There is no war in Iran.”
“It’s time for each member to be registered,” he argued. “Are you with the Neocons who took us to Iraq or do you find the American people? I am proud to co-war this resolution of bipartisan war powers with the Massie representative who is privileged and I must receive a vote.”
Representative Don Beyer (D-VA.) He also said he would support the resolution.
The newest conflict in Israel began violently on Friday when Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu used combat airplanes and drones to kill the main generals and scientific Iranians, two days before the Trump administration was to negotiate a nuclear agreement with Iran.

Israel has justified the act of aggression as a preventive measure to prevent them from developing a nuclear bomb. Trump said last month that he “warned” Netanyahu not to attack Iran while an agreement was held, just to indicate support to Israel later.
The growing violence threatens to further destabilize the Middle East after almost two years of the brutal military campaign of Israel in Gaza, and has caused a violent reaction of Trump fans and numerous democrats worried equally.
