Ashley Tisdale Says It’s Exhausting Dealing with Body Trends – The Goals Keep Moving

Ashley Tisdale opened up about the pressures of living in Los Angeles and choosing not to take one of the many weight loss medications currently available.

The former Disney Channel star, who assured readers that she fully supports anyone who chooses to go the Ozempic or Wegovy route, explained the evolution of GLP-1s in Hollywood and why she’s not on one herself.

“A few years ago, almost no one in Los Angeles would admit to using Ozempic,” Tisdale wrote in his blog Thursday about one of the most popular GLP-1s on the market. “It was all very mysterious and no one was very open about it,” he continued.

“To be clear: I have absolutely ZERO judgment toward anyone who uses Ozempic or other similar medications. Zero,” he said, adding that the medications are “life-changing” and “truly transformative” for people.

“But when I see already thin people signing up for it, I can’t help but think about how body trends continue to change,” Tisdale said. “We keep moving the goalposts and it’s exhausting. What makes it harder is the constant online comments.”

The actor said that all the criticism on the Internet leaves people feeling that “no matter what they do, they will be judged.”

“You can’t really win. So at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how you feel in your own body,” he said. And although she “was tempted” to try weight-loss medications, she “decided that Ozempic is not the right decision for me.”

“I’m not against Western medicine by any means, but I like to take a holistic view of weight, which is so deeply tied to hormones, sleep, diet, mental health, genetics and stress,” she said. “And sometimes autoimmune issues, which I personally live with.”

Tisdale joins the chorus of other celebrities who have decided to stay away from weight-loss medications, or tried Ozempic and found that it didn’t agree with them at all.

James Corden revealed last year that, while he had been taking Ozempic to lose weight, he had been unsuccessful in his weight loss efforts.

“I tried Ozempic, and it won’t surprise you when you look at me now that it didn’t really work,” the former late-night host said on his podcast. “I tried it for a while and then I realized I was like, ‘Oh no, none of my diet has anything to do with being hungry.’ All this does is make you not feel hungry.”

Amy Schumer also revealed that she had tried the medication, but found that it didn’t work for her for other reasons.

“I was one of the people who felt sick. I couldn’t play with my son,” the “I Feel Pretty” actor said during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” back in 2023.

But for those people who do use drugs, he urged them to be honest.

“Everyone says, ‘Oh, smaller portions!’” he joked. “Like, shut the fuck up. You’re on Ozempic. Or one of those things.”
