Barack Obama accidentally steals the show with an unexpected moment at the NBA All-Star Game
Some of the NBA’s biggest names faced off in Sunday’s All-Star Game, but one key moment came from someone who never played in the league: former President Barack Obama.
With former first lady Michelle Obama next to him in their courtside seats, Obama caught a loose ball as he headed toward the crowd:
Obama, a longtime Chicago Bulls fan, also threw a mischievous joke at Hall of Famer Reggie Miller, who played for the rival Indiana Pacers.
During an on-court interview between games in Sunday’s round-robin tournament, Miller asked the former president if he had a “favorite moment” from the 1990s, when Michael Jordan led the Bulls to six championships.
“I always enjoyed watching us beat Indiana,” Obama said, and the two exchanged verbal banter about some playoff history:
To top it all off, the Obamas appeared in the video exhibit at the Intuit Dome, and fans seemed to love it.
Reports from the scene indicate that they were greeted with a warm applause from the crowd.
